Visa

The delegation members attending the 2007 SOWSG should apply for the short visit visa (AKA. F visa), which is issued to visitors who are invited to visit, study, give lectures, do business, participate in scientific, cultural and sport exchanges as well as attend short-term training programs and internship and whose stay in China lasts no longer than six months.

The delegation members from Hong Kong and Macao SARs should hold the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents or the Travel Document of the PRC. The members of the delegation from Chinese Taipei should hold the Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents to Enter and Exit the Mainland with valid visa.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to waive visa fee for athletes, coaches and designated personnel (including one registered family member per athlete).

Application for visa
I It is suggested that the applicants apply for visas at the nearest Chinese embassies, consulates, representative offices, offices of commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong and Macao SARs as well as other Chinese overseas organizations authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the division of the consular districts, the applicants should, in principle, apply for visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate in their domicile.

 The delegation members are required to present to the Chinese embassies/consulates 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games Visa Application Form (VAF) issued by the GOC and their valid passports to apply for visas to China.

 The GOC started sending out VAFs to the official delegations in July, 2007. Visa applicants with VAFs will be referred to designated staff and entitled to facilitation services.

 Please visit www.fmprc.gov.cn and the websites of Chinese embassies and consulates for more information.
